For 50 years, STAUFF Australia has played a leading role in the hydraulics and fluid power industry. Courageous Beginnings

STAUFF Australia officially launched on 4 February 1976, driven by a clear mission: to bring high-quality hydraulic components and system solutions to the Australian market. The early years required determination, strong customer focus and a commitment to stable supply — foundations that remain central to the business today.

Leaders Who Shaped the Journey

Arnold Menshen – The Pioneer

In 1975, company founder Arnold Menshen, together with Alex Tkal, laid the groundwork for STAUFF’s presence in Australia. His international focus, long-term strategy and entrepreneurial mindset set the direction for decades to follow.

Alex Tkal – Early Operational Leader

As founding Managing Director, Alex played a key role in building a national STAUFF network and guiding the business through its formative challenges.

Bill Seelis – Long-Serving Managing Director

Bill helped build the strong market position STAUFF holds today. His leadership style emphasised quality, negotiation strength and team culture—principles that continue to influence the company.

Peter Krohn – Modernising STAUFF

After 17 years leading STAUFF Australia and New Zealand, Peter retired in December 2024. His major achievements include:

  • Introducing the Authorised Stockist Programme

  • Strengthening the company during market shifts

  • Expanding brand presence and operational independence

Knut Menshen – Building on his father's legacy
Together with Bill Seelis and Peter Krohn, Knut Menshen, eldest son of founder Arnold Menshen, also contributed to the ongoing success of STAUFF Australia from the headquarters in Germany and during numerous visits to the site. During his time as managing partner of the STAUFF Group, significant investments were made in the STAUFF locations and the nationwide sales network was further expanded. Knut Menshen left the company in 2016 and handed over to Jörg Deutz as CEO of STAUFF companies worldwide.

Branno Tesanovic – Managing Director since 2025

Branno took on the Managing Director role on 1 January 2025. Since joining STAUFF in 2000, he has worked across purchasing, export sales, product management and business development. With deep market knowledge and a forward-looking approach, he now leads STAUFF Australia and New Zealand into its next chapter.

Celebrating Together – The 50-Year Family Day

The anniversary celebration on Friday, 6th February brought employees and their families together on the company premises. The event showcased STAUFF Australia’s strong culture of community and appreciation.

The day included:

  • Animal show and face painting for children

  • Pickleball, cricket and table tennis

  • German-themed food, beer and live music

  • The popular “Time Wall”—showcasing 50 years of milestones and memories

Employees played a major role in organising and running the event, reflecting the teamwork and dedication that define the company. Celebrations across other STAUFF sites reinforced the sense of unity throughout the global network.

Strategic Turning Point – The Authorised Stockist Programme

Introduced in 2012, the Authorised Stockist Programme strengthened STAUFF Australia’s market presence by building a national network of trusted distributors. Benefits included:

  • Improved product availability

  • Greater flexibility and responsiveness

  • A scalable, resilient partnership structure

The programme later evolved into the STAUFF Line System Partner Programme, expanding these principles across the global STAUFF network.

Success Built by the Entire Team

STAUFF Australia's achievements over five decades are the result of contributions from every function — sales, logistics, engineering, customer service, production, finance, marketing, IT, HR and more. A respectful, collaborative culture has always been central to the company's stability and success.

Looking Ahead – Staying True to What Matters

STAUFF Australia will continue to invest in:

  • Uncompromising quality

  • Technology and infrastructure

  • Strong, dependable partnerships

  • Longterm, sustainable decisionmaking

  • A stable, values-driven corporate culture

These commitments provide confidence for employees, partners and customers, ensuring continued growth into the future.
